Exciting Updates Shaping the Pine Project’s Future

January 12, 2026

As we welcome a new year, we’re excited to share two important updates that will shape the Pine Project’s future for years to come: the launch of our new 5-year Strategic Plan and a meaningful evolution in our leadership. These milestones reflect the values that have always guided Pine: connection, belonging, and a deep belief in the power of nature to transform lives.

Introducing our 2026–2030 Strategic Plan

Our new Strategic Plan, Building Resilience for Lasting Impact, lays out a bold roadmap for deepening our impact, strengthening resilience, and living more fully into our mission of connecting children with nature.

The plan positions Pine as a stronger, more adaptive, and more inclusive organization with the leadership, relationships, and infrastructure needed to thrive in an ever-changing world. It ensures we can continue offering high-quality, inclusive, and transformative outdoor experiences for the next generation, while growing with purpose and care.

We invite you to read the summary of our plan and learn more about the vision guiding our next chapter.

Welcoming a New Co-Executive Director

As part of this next phase, we are pleased to share that Jennifer Peer is now Co-Executive Director alongside Andrew McMartin.

Jennifer has helped lead Pine as Director of Operations for nearly a decade. Her deep commitment to Pine’s mission, paired with her strategic insight and operational stewardship, has been instrumental in our growth. This formal recognition reflects the collaborative spirit that has always shaped Pine and our belief that shared leadership makes us stronger.

Andrew will continue in his leadership role as Co-Executive Director. This is not a change in direction, but an example of Pine’s shared and values-aligned approach to leadership — one that honours the strengths and contributions of the people who help bring our mission to life.

Jennifer and Andrew bring complementary strengths that have supported Pine’s growth over many years: Jennifer’s strategic insight and operational stewardship, along with Andrew’s focus on vision and programmatic leadership, have helped shape Pine into the organization it is today. They share a deep belief in Pine’s mission and in the importance of nature connection in helping young people grow into confident, compassionate members of their communities.

Looking Ahead with Hope and Possibility

Our new strategic plan gives us a strong path forward to reach more young people and strengthen the impact Pine can have for years to come. We feel a deep sense of possibility as we look to the future and continue building a community where children and youth can grow with confidence, curiosity, and care.

Thank you for being part of the Pine community. Your support helps shape the Pine Project into the thriving, community-rooted organization it is today. We’re grateful to continue this journey together. We hope you’ll join us in celebrating Jennifer and sharing in our excitement for what’s ahead!
