Refer a Friend to Pine’s Wayfinder Program

April 3, 2023

What is Pine’s Wayfinder Program?
Pine’s Red Wolf Wayfinder Program is a 3-week backcountry adventure in August for teens ages 15 & 16 that combines camping, canoeing and leadership training. Wayfinders split their time between Red Wolf Overnight Camp and a multi-day canoe trip in Temagami, to develop skills in canoeing, navigation and map reading, portaging, water safety and rescue, campsite setup and care, and general outdoor skills. They also have a chance to build other wilderness skills (eg. wildlife tracking, foraging for food, shelter building), and mentor younger campers.

*BURSARIES AVAILABLE* If you or someone you know would love to join us for a transformative 3-weeks in Ontario’s wilderness this summer, but cost is creating a barrier, Pine’s Bursary Program can help!

How can I help spread the word?
Refer a friend to Wayfinder and get a Pine hat and Mora knife (like these!) to gear up for your own summer adventures. Here’s how it works:

  1. Refer friends & family – have conversations, post on social media, send an email to your community, whatever feels right to you! You don’t need to be currently enrolled in any Pine programs.
  2. Registering families will be asked on their application form for the name of the person who referred them. If they forget, you can simply email info@pineproject.org to let us know.
  3. We’ll reach out to you to let you know that a hat and knife will be coming your way!

*The referred family must successfully register in the Wayfinder program (including payment of the deposit; bursaries available). They must be new to Wayfinders, but not necessarily new to Pine.
